I like the barrel-shape of this clock. And if you live far from home like me, chances are that you will also appreciate its practicality. 12 sides display two major cities on each. That is 24 cities and 24 Global Time Zones. To avoid waking up family and globetrotters with a phone call, roll the clock to the city representing their time zone.

Architectural Lighting: Aqua Creations (לעיצוב אתרים בפלאש.‎)

Lighting the way to this first post is the one of my current favourite work by designers Albir & Ayal Serfaty, founder of the company Aqua Creations. A collection of floor, wall and ceiling lamps. The Lianna S pendant shown here is suspended from a brushed stainless steel ceiling plate, by a 2mm stainless steel cables, in adjustable height, up to 200cm long, with a clear electrical cord. As with most things, designers’ imaginations and interpretations of materials, colours and textures can sometimes lead to some pretty interesting effects. I expected an attractive atmosphere, a soft and steady light, and shapes filling me with warmth. Inspired to make my own, I went to have a look at the purchase made by Meat & Co steakhouse in Melbourne. In the context of this restaurant, it was easier to see the imperfections than to feel the beauty. Besides the deposit of grease on the beautiful silk, the disposition and size of the pendants was inadequate to the rooms. The poor Lianna S was hanging like a grain of couscous over a huge table!
